Gilson J. Capilouto PhD, CCC-SLP

Dr. Gilson J. Capilouto is a speech-language pathologist with extensive experience in assessment and treatment of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. She is co-inventor of technology that generates real-time objective data on infant sucking performance used in hospitals across the US and internationally.  NFANT Labs, LLC also manufactures a high-quality line of bottle nipples used in over 100 NICUs across the country. Toneisha Bush MA, CCC-SLP (Chair)

Toneisha is speech-language pathologist and private-practice owner from South Carolina. She has worked in a wide variety of pediatric settings to include NICU, outpatient pediatrics, clinic settings, and schools. Over the years, she has developed a love for all things PFD. “My desire is that ALL families and children with pediatric feeding/swallowing disorders receive the best quality care/attention they so desperately need and deserve from loving professionals who truly care about their overall health and well-being.”

Laura Loveless MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, CLC

Laura is the therapy manager at Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. She is also a Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders and a Certified Lactation Counselor. She has worked with infants and children with feeding/swallowing disorders in a variety of pediatric settings including acute care, PICU, NICU, and the outpatient therapy clinic in addition to performing videofluoroscopic swallow studies.

Marion Russell OTD, MOTR/L, SCFES (Inclusion Representative)

Dr. Marion Russell is an assistant professor in the Occupational Therapy program at Creighton University and a pediatric occupational therapist. She is originally from Berlin, Germany and has experience working in private practice and clinical settings in the United States, Germany, and Austria. Dr. Russell’s research focuses on three main areas: the provision of telehealth services to children with T1D; interventions to address difficulties in pediatric feeding and eating behaviors; and education and advocacy to combat healthcare disparities experienced by members of the transgender population. As a clinician, she been a member of a specialized tube weaning therapy team providing telehealth services at the NoTube Interdisciplinary Therapy Center in Graz, Austria since 2016.

Kristen M. West Ed.D. CCC-SLP

Kristen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at  PennWest University-Edinboro. She received her Ed.D. at Slippery Rock University. Clinically, Kristen has experience in a variety of pediatric settings including early intervention, pediatric acute care, outpatient and school-based services. Prior to joining PennWest, she helped establish a public school safe feeding program and served as a safe feeding consultant for the same educational agency. Currently, Kristen serves as the Vice President for pediatric affairs for the Dysphagia Outreach Project. She is also a member of SIG-13 and volunteers with Feeding Matters. Kristen is passionate advocating for feeding and swallowing services for children and their families across the continuum of care and ensuring equitable access to services for all children in need.
