Recommended because:
I'm the author of this book about my daughter Sammi’s first nine years, which were fraught with the many reasons she was labeled "failure to thrive." My experience of self during that time was almost completely wrapped up in my identity as her mother, further fractured into micro-identities like mom of sick child, mom of child with dietary restrictions, mom of child with a 504 plan, mom of child in hospital, reluctant stay-at-home mom. I wrote KITCHEN MEDICINE to be a lifeline to parents and caregivers like the one I was during the time: frightened, anxious, and desperate for solutions. I hope this book is helpful for others traveling the same path.
