What is a Watch Party & Discussion?
A Watch Party & Discussion is a local, community-hosted gathering where participants watch the Summit content together and then engage in facilitated discussion. These gatherings are designed to create connection, reflection, and local action rooted in the Summit’s themes.

Who can attend a Watch Party?
Watch Parties are open to healthcare professionals, families, caregivers, advocates, educators, students, and community members who are interested in pediatric feeding disorder and systems change. Everyone is welcome.

Where will Watch Parties take place?
Watch Parties are hosted locally by Community Councils and partners in various regions. Each host determines the specific location (e.g., hospital, clinic, community center, library, or virtual setting).

Will there be continuing education (CE) credit?
The Shannon Goldwater Summit for Change is registered for CEUs with ASHA, AOTA, and CDR. The local community discussion is not eligible for continuing education credit. Find more information here and email conference@feedingmatters.org with further questions.

Who facilitates the discussion?
Discussions are facilitated by trained Community Council leads or designated facilitators who are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for sharing.

Is there a fee to attend?
Watch party attendance is included for free with your International PFD Conference registration! Please still register for the watch party using the conference registration check box. If you are not registered for the International PFD Conference, watch party attendance is $25.

What is expected of participants?
Participants are encouraged to:

  • Engage respectfully and listen with curiosity
  • Share experiences and perspectives as they feel comfortable
  • Participate in discussion and reflection

Is this a safe space for families and people with lived experience?
Yes. Facilitators prioritize psychological safety and respectful dialogue.

What happens after the Watch Party?
Insights, themes, and feedback from Watch Parties help inform ongoing work within the Feeding Alliance and Community Councils. Participants are encouraged to stay engaged and explore next steps for local impact.
