Creamy Gluten Free Garlic Pasta

Recommended because:
Kids love pasta! This is a quick and easy dish to make, and it is gluten free for those with a wheat allergy or intolerance. Using whole milk will add extra calories if needed.


1 (1 lb) box gluten free penne, cooked as directed, drained and kept hot
2 tablespoons butter
2 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp minced garlic from jar)
1 tablespoon arrowroot or corn starch
3/4 cup chicken broth or 3/4 cup beef broth
3/4 cup milk (whole milk if additional calories needed)
2 teaspoons parsley flakes
salt and pepper, to taste
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese


Cook the penne as directed. Drain, and keep hot.

Melt butter in a medium sauce pan.

Add garlic and cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
Add arrowroot or corn starch and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the broth and milk, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens.
Add the parsley, salt, pepper and cheese, and stir until the cheese is melted.
Toss the hot pasta with the sauce. Serve immediately.
