Additional information:

Our clinic provides feeding services to children ages birth – 18 years of age, with a variety of feeding disorders. We see children with congenital disorders that have had feeding trouble since birth, as well as picky and selective eaters. Our approach to feeding is one that takes a “whole-child” approach to feeding, taking into consideration all aspects of the child’s development; structural obstacles, sensory difficulties, oral motor skills, the child’s home environment, the child (and parent’s) motivation to work on the feeding issues, and of course the family dynamic! The parent or guardian is one of our prime team players, sitting in with the therapist during sessions, and they are taught strategies, techniques, and appropriate materials and utensils to be used for their child, so that feeding can be addressed at home as well. Parents bring their own food, so that they don’t feel the pressure to have to go and buy any kinds of “special” therapy food. We want families to feel as successful in possible, and that they are an essential part of helping their child succeed.
