Primary Care Education on Pediatric Feeding Diosrder

Promoting Earlier Identification for Better Care

Front line providers needed!

Help shape the future of PFD education by serving as a participant in a national study examining applicability of a free, 15-minute online educational presentation on PFD.

Pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) affects more than 1 in 23 children under the age of 5 in the United States each year. Most providers will interact with several families struggling at mealtimes every week, but their struggles may go undetected. Have you ever struggled to support these children within your practice?

Feeding Matters, in collaboration with The Children’s Multidisciplinary Feeding Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is conducting a research study to evaluate a free, 15-minute online educational presentation on PFD, including identification and best-practice recommendations.

The information presented is designed for currently practicing community providers in pediatrics including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. The study aims to learn about current provider knowledge and practices related to PFD, and to assess knowledge of PFD following this educational presentation.

All study activities occur virtually. Participation will take no more than 35 minutes and consist of completing a brief practice survey and pretest, watching ~15 minutes of educational videos, and completing a post-test.

After completion of the video and surveys, participants may elect to receive a complementary registration to the annual Feeding Matters Feeding Development Conference, which is held virtually and can be viewed on-demand.

If you have questions about this study, please contact the study PI, Dr. Kaitlin Proctor, at 404-785-3542.
