2021 PFD ALLIANCE OPEN CALL

Feeding Matters’ Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD) Alliance unites the field’s advocates, professionals, family members, and community partners to ignite unprecedented change to the system of care through shared-collective decisions, insights, and ideas.

PFD Alliance Norms

  • Operate around the following governance principles: participation, transparency, responsiveness, consensus orientation, equity, inclusiveness, effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and rules of engagement
  • Be open to all with an interest and who abide by PFD Alliance norms
  • Encourage the ongoing education of members and the deepening of expertise among members
  • Time Commitment: While commitment expectations vary per position, most applicants should plan on meeting at least monthly.

Current position openings are listed below for the 2021 Open Call.

Education Pillar

improves the educational offerings, resources, and opportunities for all disciplines in the pediatric feeding disorder field

 

Education Pillar Chair: Amy Delaney, PhD, SLP

 

Conference Committee

determines the conference agenda topics and speakers; works collaboratively to plan and execute a multi-disciplinary evidence-based conference agenda, ensures that educational opportunities are of the highest caliber for attendees

 

Open Positions:

 

    • Committee Lead: oversees the development of the conference agenda in partnership with the conference committee; helps to select committee members and hold them accountable to committee actions (time commitment: 1 year term, 1 meeting per month)
    • Committee Member: participates in the development of the conference agenda and contributes to the planning and execution of annual conference (time commitment: 1 year term, 1 meeting per month)
    • Inclusion Representative: fully active conference committee member who also ensures that blind spots and assumptions that might be working against a more inclusive environment are identified and supported
    • Scheduling Coordinator: fully active conference committee member responsible for planning committee meetings with members, determining meeting frequency, and creating and sending agendas and meeting minutes

 

Pre-Conference Committee

responsible for delivering an evidence-based interactive learning event highlighting the family’s voice regarding how PFD is assessed and managed within the PFD community

 

Open Positions:

 

    • Committee Lead: oversees the development and execution of the pre-conference agenda in partnership with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and the Director of Programs and Events (time commitment: 1 year term, 1 meeting per month)
    • Committee Members: participate in the development of the pre-conference agenda and contributes to the planning and execution of the annual pre-conference (time commitment: 1 year term, 1 meeting per month)
    • Inclusion Representative: fully active pre-conference committee member who also ensures that blind spots and assumptions that might be working against a more inclusive environment are identified and supported
    • Scheduling Coordinator: fully active pre-conference committee member responsible for planning committee meetings with members, determining meeting frequency, and creating and sending agendas and meeting minutes

Advocacy Pillar

determines an advocacy agenda and organizes a coalition to enhance services for children with pediatric feeding disorder

 

Advocacy Pillar Chair: Erin Ross, PhD, SLP

 

Digital Outreach Committee

responsible for building a digital outreach program designed to guide partners of influence, assess website function, drive website revisions, and guide content creation and digital dissemination

 

Open Positions:

 

    • Committee Lead: oversees digital outreach programming and methods of execution in partnership with Feeding Matter’s staff, helps to select committee members and hold them accountable to committee actions (time commitment: 1 year term, may extend, 1 meeting per month)
    • Digital Outreach Committee Member: participate in the development of the digital outreach program, including website analysis, design recommendations, and process planning (time commitment: 1 year term, 1 meeting per month)
    • Inclusion Representative: fully active digital outreach committee member who also ensures that blind spots and assumptions that might be working against a more inclusive environment are identified and supported
    • Scheduling Coordinator: fully active digital outreach committee member responsible for planning committee meetings with members, determining meeting frequency, and creating and sending agendas and meeting minutes

Research Pillar

develops and contributes to a research blueprint designed to ignite research, optimize funding, and promote evidence based, family-focused, multi-disciplinary care for pediatric feeding disorder

 

Research Pillar Chair: Hayley Estrem, RN, PhD

 

Open Position:

 

    • Research Pillar Chair: oversees the Research direction of Feeding Matters in partnership with Feeding Matters CEO and Director of Strategic Initiatives; helps to select which research committees/projects the organization focuses on; helps to determine project leads; helps to determine committee/project members.
      Commitment and Contributions include:

      1. serves a 2-year term, may serve additional terms/years, not to exceed 5 consecutive years of service
      2. attends quarterly virtual PFDA Executive Council meetings
      3. contributes to authoring and dissemination of the annual town hall regarding research in the PFD field
      4. contributes to the authoring of the annual IPFDC Symposium and serves as a virtual Symposium presenter
      5. provides guidance, feedback and content as applicable to key initiatives within the Research Blueprint
      6. participates in leadership consortiums as needed

Family Support Pillar

equips families with education and advocacy supports to ensure no family feels alone on their PFD journey
