Families of infants and children with pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) often feel isolated and overwhelmed with the medical, emotional, financial, educational, and social issues they face as they raise their child. The Power of Two prorgram matches families who are dealing with their child’s PFD or ARFID with family members, known as family coaches, who have been through a similar experience. Our coaches offer emotional support, resources and guidance.

Purpose and Impact:

  • Lives are being changed with families who better understand the impact of having a child who has PFD or ARFID
  • Family coaches reduce the isolation and self-doubt for families that comes with PFD or ARFID
  • Empowering families with resources, guidance, and advocacy tools
  • Creating strong advocates to bring awareness to PFD and ARFID

Qualifications:

  • Have firsthand experience as a parent/caregiver of a child with PFD or ARFID
  • Knowledge of medical intricacies associated with PFD or ARFID
  • Ability to work with discretion (sensitive/confidential information)
  • Active listening skills with a positive attitude
  • Be able to communicate via phone, email or internet calling with parents
  • Feel comfortable sharing your story either written or orally
