A community reception with Representative Heather Carter

Published on November 18, 2015

Feeding Matters recently hosted an intimate community reception with Arizona State Representative Heather Carter. The event, held at the offices of Nussbaum, Gillis, & Dinner, included a discussion of feeding struggles as it relates to Arizona public policy, and Representative Carter brought a unique and expert perspective to the table. Feeding Matters is so thankful to Representative Carter for helping raise awareness for pediatric feeding struggles!

Representative Carter also invited Feeding Matters to present to the House Health Committee to raise awareness at the Legislature about children with feeding struggles. All Feeding Matters friends and supporters are encouraged to join Executive Director, Chris Linn, and the Feeding Matters staff for the presentation on January 26, 2016.

3rd Annual Take Your Place at the Table Luncheon

Published on October 05, 2015

Feeding Matters is extremely grateful for the community’s support of the 3rd Annual Take Your Place at the Table Luncheon. We are pleased to share that this year’s luncheon included more than 700 guests and raised over $150,000! A special thank you to Jaburg Wilk, our presenting sponsor, as well as the Dorrance Family Foundation, for their very generous donations to the luncheon.

In addition, we would like to thank the Arizona Community Foundation; the Arizona Lottery; Comerica Bank; Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation; Fiesta Bowl Charities; JRM Environmental; Mercy Care Plan; Nussbaum, Gillis, and Dinner; Southwest Human Development; and Sprouts Farmers Market for taking their place at the table as luncheon sponsors.

Over one million infants and children under age five in the United States struggle with feeding! Our current system does not fully support this underserved population of fragile children. Because of supporters like you, we are bridging the gap in care to eliminate the unnecessary, and quite frankly, unimaginable suffering these children and their families endure.

We truly appreciate your continued support of our efforts to raise awareness and to provide services for children who suffer from feeding struggles.

Local Phoenix-area band The Flippin’ Switches will play a concert on October 2 to benefit Feeding Matters! This donation-only event will be held at the ROCKBAR in Scottsdale, AZ and begins at 8pm.

This group is especially interested in supporting Feeding Matters as the band's guitar player, Dr. Matt Abrams, is a neonatologist who serves on the Feeding Matters Medical Professional Council. The Flippin’ Switches is a rock band with a primary focus on charity and fundraising events. Their music is very diverse ranging from bands like the Black Keys and Franz Ferdinand to Gary Clark, Jr.  We hope to see you there!
