Impact in Action

Dear Friends of Feeding Matters,
As a mom of two young kids, May is always full with school parties, sports schedules, and spring chaos but it’s also full of purpose. Watching our community rise up together during PFD and ARFID Awareness Month to share stories, raise awareness, and educate others reminded me that we’re making a real difference.
This month has been about visibility, but it has also been about impact. Thanks to you, Feeding Matters is not just raising awareness. We walk beside families every single day.
We do this through:
- The Power of Two: Peer-to-peer coaching from trained family mentors
- Family First Cohorts: A new reflective program for caregivers navigating the unknown when intervention options may be slim
- Financial Assistance: Financial support to help cover PFD-specific needs
- Our Family Guide, Provider Directory, Hotline, and Support Groups: Offering resources and connection when families need it most
The results speak volumes:
- 100% of families in our Family First program would recommend it to others
- 100% of Power of Two mentees said it helped and some are now stepping up to become mentors themselves
- And the words that stick with me the most: “I didn’t know how much of a community I needed until I found Feeding Matters.”
Even with this impact, we still face a mountain. Most children are never screened for feeding concerns or delays. Most professionals aren’t taught how to recognize or treat these disorders. And families still tell us they feel invisible and unheard.
I dream of a future where every child’s feeding development is tracked from birth…where delays are addressed early, and providers are trained in the complexities of feeding, trust, trauma, and growth.
And every day, we chisel away at that mountain together.
If Feeding Matters has made a difference to you or someone you love, or if you believe in a world where no family has to navigate feeding disorders alone, please consider supporting our work.
Your gift helps make this impact possible.
Your voice helps others feel seen.
And your belief in this movement brings us one step closer to that future.
With gratitude,
Jaclyn Pederson, MHI
