Isuru Dharmarathna PhD (NZ), MSc (UK), BSc Hons. (SL) (Inclusion Representative)

Isuru is a speech-language pathologist with a clinical and research expertise in pediatric feeding disorders. She has worked as a lecturer and a clinician in Sri Lanka and received her doctorate in pediatric dysphagia from New Zealand. Currently, she is pursuing a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Swallowing Rehabilitation Research Laboratory in Toronto Rehabilitation Research Institute, Canada. Her main research interests are to improve the quality of information gathered from videofluoroscopic study of swallowing and to explore biomechanics of food oral processing in children. Isuru is a strong advocate for improving clinical care for children with PFD and their families in under-resourced settings by equipping clinicians and educating families and communities. At present, she is the Councilor- in-Training of the Dysphagia Research Society and is a Council Member of the Sri Lankan Association of Speech and Language Pathologists.
