CEO Message: Celebrating 20 Years
Published by Jaclyn Pederson, MHI on Mar 02, 2026
Dear Friends,
This year, Feeding Matters turns 20! Over the past 20 years, this community has helped establish pediatric feeding disorder as a recognized diagnosis, advanced research and screening, launched programs that support families, built bridges between disciplines and fields, and created a place where caregivers feel seen, believed, and supported.
That is extraordinary.
I’m excited to share that this entire year will be a celebration of where we’ve been and where we’re going. Throughout the year, we’ll be sharing “Throwback Thursdays” and moments from our history on social media, highlighting stories from families and professionals who shaped this movement, and inviting you behind the scenes of what the next decades will hold.
During our 20th Anniversary Celebration Week (October 8–10, 2026), we’ll gather in person in Arizona to mark this milestone in big ways:
- Feeding X: Big Ideas in Feeding — bold thinking about the future of feeding
- A Golf Experience to rally community support
- A Family Playdate to honor the heart of this work
- An elevated Feed the Cause Gala to celebrate 20 years of impact
As we reflect, I would love to invite you into this moment with us. Will you share a memory? Maybe it was the first time you felt understood. The first conference you attended. The first screening tool you used. The first time someone said, “It’s not picky eating.” Or the first time you realized you weren’t alone.
Email info@feedingmatters.org or tag us when we share our throwbacks. Your story is part of this 20-year journey.
Twenty years ago, a small group of determined parents and professionals decided that feeding disorders and differences deserved attention, research, and compassion. Because of you, that spark became a movement.
And if the last 20 years have taught me anything, it’s this: when this community shows up, mountains move.
Here’s to the next 20 years of building bridges and moving mountains.
With gratitude,
Jaclyn Pederson, MHI
