Building Belonging

Dear Friends of Feeding Matters,

So many conversations in our orbit break our hearts, as families face long journeys and a system that too often overlooks them but takes years of our system change work to fix. And yet, each day, we are in awe as our community shows up for one another. As one parent shared: “I didn’t know how much of a community I was missing until I found you.”

This is why we do this work. PFD and ARFID can leave families and even clinicians feeling isolated, uncertain, and overwhelmed. But when they find Feeding Matters, they discover not only resources and knowledge through our educational events, support programs, website or our app, but they also find belonging. They find others who understand. They find hope. And you are part of that hope.

That spirit of connection is what brings us together for our signature fundraising event: Feed the Cause, now in its third year. On Saturday, October 11th at Papago Golf Club in Arizona, our national community will gather for an evening of inspiration, stories, and celebration. Most importantly, we’ll raise the critical funds that make everything else possible: enhancing early intervention and screening, resources for families stuck on waitlists, up-to-date information for professionals, and awareness of the real impact of PFD and ARFID.

This event is our largest fundraiser of the year. In a year when funding has been especially difficult to secure, your presence and support matter more than ever. If you can’t attend in person, you can still be part of Feed the Cause by making a gift today or purchasing a ticket for a caregiver to attend.

Whether you’re here in Arizona or part of our national community, your involvement fuels lasting change and for that, we’re grateful to you for being part of this community.

With gratitude,

Jaclyn Pederson, MHI
