Building Community as We Enter Feeding Matters’ 20th Year
Published by Jaclyn Pederson, MHI on Jan 28, 2026
Dear Friends,
As we begin a new year, and Feeding Matters’ 20th, I’ve been thinking a lot about community.
The world feels heavy right now. Nuance feels harder. Conversations feel sharper. And when things feel overwhelming or uncertain, I find myself coming back to the same truth: we get through it by leaning on one another.
That’s something this community has always done beautifully, even across states, countries, and time zones. And it’s why we created the Feeding Alliance.
On Thursday, January 29th, we’re hosting our first virtual Feeding Alliance Forum, and I hope you’ll join us. It’s focused on successes our community members have had for feeding disorder system change. It’s free, informal, and intentionally conversational: small breakout groups, shared learning, real dialogue, and space to be with one another with whatever you may need at the moment.
One of the things I love most about the work we do and specifically what this forum is about, is that it’s not just about Feeding Matters. While we do a lot, we can’t and shouldn’t do it all. This space allows us to celebrate and learn from the incredible work happening in clinics, homes, schools, and communities far beyond our organization. It’s a chance to listen, to share what’s working, and to connect the dots together.
If you’re craving connection, reflection, or simply a reminder that you’re not doing this work alone, this space is for you. Community, even digital community, matters. And together, we can continue building something hopeful, supportive, and deeply human.
With gratitude,
Jaclyn Pederson, MHI
